A blog is a software platform where people, as individual authors, can post and share their thoughts with others. Below each post, there is a comment section where others are allowed to comment on the author’s work. Blogs platform can be used to address many things far beyond responding to a topic or a subject or sharing thoughts. For instance, Blogging was the spark behind many arrests because of drugs as the article Brooklyn Blog Helps Lead To Drug Raid mentioned. Wilson states that “ Peering turned to blogging, and blogging turned to action, as neighbors started filing complaints with the 68th Precinct station house and attending Community Board 10 meetings and generally making noise until a narcotics investigation began, leading to the arrests.” So People thinks of more creative ways such as using blogs to fight drugs, and that is one of the best aspects of these social platforms. The Brooklyn case is an example that Blogs can be used for collaboration.
Wikis is another platform where people can work collaboratively in writing, sharing, and editing. Wikis is an excellent tool for group work, usually used in educational institutions as well as businesses. Wikis in business are very common when a company is working on a project that requires the contribution of different people; wikis keeps everybody on the same page. In the article (Wikipedia Founder Jimmy Wales on Making the Most of Company Wikis) Morse in describing wikis says “Pretty much any sort of knowledge sharing that is enhanced by open, flexible, rapid collaboration, particularly in contexts where people are separated geographically and relationship-building is important. Wikis are great tools for helping people to come to
consensus quickly, whether about what to put on a meeting agenda or how best to meet customers’ needs.” Wikis can be useful in many ways, and as people keep developing these platforms, I'm sure that wikis would have more uses than the ones we know of.

The Smartphone and Its Social Influence
In the search analysis in this topic, I will be discussing how smartphones are getting involved in our social life and how it influenced our daily interactions. Last decade we saw a significant development in these kinds of devices, astonishing progress to the extent that most of the tasks become possible through these little devices. Besides, I will also emphasize the influence of the smartphone from different angles. Emphasizing the psychological perspective ( dealing with addiction), as well as the economical (interfering with productivity). Discussing social influence is a broad umbrella that might include all the other perspectives. To be more specific, I will analyze how smartphones interfere with our social relationships. Of course, I will be analyzing the positive and negative sides of every angle. Moreover, since I’m a business major, I will be discussing the impact of the smartphone on the business world.
